The flush-mount opening

In a new build the door station is flush mounted. Allow for the back box opening: a cut-out 93,0 mm wide, 202,5 mm high and 33,0 mm deep (254,5 mm high with the extension module). The mounting bracket (96,3 × 199,3 mm) screws into the box and the door station locks onto it. The front of the door station (100 mm wide) overlaps the cut-out and covers it: no making good of the plaster is needed.

In an existing building you do not cut into the façade: the door station sits on the surface on its wall box of 99,5 × 209,5 mm, 15,0 mm thick (259,2 mm high with the module), about 42 mm in total. The old intercom almost always leaves marks. For every retrofit Neolia makes a custom adapter plate that covers them and carries the box: a clean finish, with no façade repair.

1500 mm from the floor to the centre of the camera, which puts the bottom of the door station at 1307,8 mm: that is the manufacturer's mounting dimension, the one that frames a standing visitor's face correctly. It is not an accessibility requirement.

Check it against the accessibility requirements of your project before dimensioning the drawing. Those requirements cover the controls, here the call buttons, which sit below the camera, and they are usually stated as a height not to be exceeded. Depending on the project, the manufacturer's dimension may therefore be fine as it is, or may have to be lowered. The final height is settled with you and appears in the provisions drawing, which governs on site.

Controlled doors without power

Three rules, for every door the door station controls:

• Exit from the inside is always possible without power and without a key, by the handle or the push bar of the door, quickly and in the direction of escape, in line with the VKF/AEAI fire protection regulations (directive 16-15, escape and rescue routes).
• The type of door release or electric lock of each door, and how it behaves during a power cut, are chosen by the electrical contractor according to these regulations and to the requirements of the project.
• Neolia does not supply or promise any backup power. Without power or network, the door station, calls to the dwellings and remote opening do not work: access from the outside must then remain possible with the door key.

Replacing a faulty device

In new builds, the electrical contractor that sold and installed the device replaces it:

1. First check the power supply and the network connection of the device.
2. Replace the device with a device of the same reference, and claim your supplier's warranty for the faulty device.
3. Link the new device to the building in Neolia Pro. A meter or a radio unit is replaced with « Replace the device », which removes the old one; any other device is linked by scanning its code, as at installation.

In existing buildings, the property manager or the owner reports the fault to Neolia, at contact@neolia.ch. Neolia replaces the device it took on, directly or through a partner. No response time is promised.
