What to allow for on the drawings, trade by trade
The short list: four trade packages involved, no specialist wiring. Exact dimensions and positions reach you in the provisions drawing, drawn up by Neolia when it checks your drawings.
ELECTRICAL PACKAGE
One supply per door station, one per gateway, one per module
- Per stairwell: one Cat 6 cable (PoE supply for the door station) left ready at the door station position, in an empty conduit (M25 recommended) from the plant room.
- Per controlled door: the supply for the electric door release (12 V or 24 V, AC or DC depending on the model chosen) close to the door; the release is driven by the door station relay.
- Per radio gateway: one permanent 230 V supply and one Ethernet socket, on a middle floor or at a high point on the riser, not in the basement. The plant room is only a fallback when nothing else is possible. The exact position is set by the micro-survey and appears in the provisions drawing.
- Per monitored plant room (boiler room, lift machine room, ventilation): one 230 V supply and one free slot on a DIN rail for the monitoring module, which needs a permanent 7 to 24 V DC. One module covers two devices: three monitored devices in the same room means two modules, so two supplies and two slots.
- In the plant room: the space and the 230 V socket for the PoE switch. The switch is part of the active equipment: your electrician buys it to the references we specify.
- That is all: no intercom riser, no cable to the dwellings.
NETWORK
An Internet router in the building: mandatory
- Mandatory: an Internet router in the building, ideally on fibre. The gateway connects to it over Ethernet.
- The Internet subscription is paid by the building (Neolia does not supply it): as a rule the property manager or the building manager takes it out. Include it in the file from the planning stage.
- Spare Ethernet cables: as soon as the building spreads out, allow for a second cable (or even a third) to a high point on the riser or to another position. The Neolia micro-survey sets the exact number of cables and gateways when it checks the drawings, with no effect on the price.
- 4G: as a backup option only, never as the main connection.
- No unusual requirements: outbound traffic only, no fixed IP address, no inbound ports to open.
HEATING / PLUMBING PACKAGE
Meters with a radio module, fitted as usual
- Energy and water meters stay in your heating and plumbing package, fitted as usual, one set per dwelling.
- One requirement only: communicating models from the major metering manufacturers (GWF and Sontex in Switzerland, Zenner, Diehl Metering, Engelmann, Axioma or equivalent), no obscure brands. Radio or wired bus, both routes suit us. The compatibility of the chosen models is confirmed with Neolia when the drawings are checked: state this in your heating and plumbing tender.
- No metering wiring: no M‑Bus, no floor concentrator, no link back to the plant room.
STRUCTURAL WORK / MASONRY
The door station recess, to the dimensions of the provisions drawing
- One flush-mount opening per entrance door station, to the exact dimensions of the model (given in the provisions drawing with the working drawings).
- Mounting height and position: shown in the provisions drawing, in line with accessibility requirements.
- Surface mounting is possible in an existing building or in a refurbishment.
